We are considering replacing our asphalt roof with a metal roof. We are interested in the shake style metal roofing materials. Will the snow slide off this type of roof with a 6/12 or 8/12 roof pitch? We are worried that if snow slides off that it will damage our landscape plants.

Not all of them. Get a stone coated steel roof and that will hold a snow load much easier. Eric Novotny
