I am in the middle of a metal roofing install and the contractor has did something around the dormer I find questionable. He said the way the pieces worked out on the side of the dormer, we had to slit the metal so it would go under the valley piece on the inside and over it on the outside. I am trying to figure out if this is normal or if this is just a bad work around. I have attached a picture. Thank you in advance for your advice.
