I have new roof, and seems like I loss my ridge vent by getting metal roof. They have ridge cap and z bar covering up spaces between ribs...its a standing seam roof. I see no way for it to work as a ridge vent. Not too mention they did not put a slit or anything in the underlayment...so that should stop the air flow. I am being told, metal roofs don't have ridge vents. It is true it seems manufacturer does not show any trim in catalog for a vented ridge vent. Just the ridge cap and zbar. Are they suppose to cut slits in the z bar. I do not follow.
