I am in the process of replacing a 5 v crimp roof on a very old home. The estimates I have received are for both 5 v crimp and standing seam which is almost twice the cost. Most of the roof is not visible from the ground as there is a facade on the front. The contractor says the difference is aesthetic. I just want to confirm that is the case. Thanks for your help!

A large part of the difference is aesthetic but certainly there can be some life expectancy and maintenance differences between exposed and concealed fasteners. Also, verify what sort of paint system is on the product. Todd Miller
