dear sirs -
i have been told by a manufcaturer that i have to use non-granulated ice water shield in order to get a watertightness warranty.
i have researched aprx 10 manufcaturers websites, tech binders- details and specs-- and i do not find anywhere that states i must use non granulated ice water shield. i understand the potential for scratching the backside of the panel...
i have also scoured the internet inclucing this site and have yet to find anything conclusive. i would like to know when did nongranulated use in metal roofing become the "standard".... and if this is such a concern why dont the manufacturers show this in details or spec this in their binders/websites.
thank you - urgently waiting your reply.

Obviously, we cannot speak for all the metal roofing manufacturers. I can tell you that the company I work for does not make this exclusion. I would speak to other manufacturers that produce the type of product you want to use on your roof to see if they all have that exclusion.
