I plan to cover patio that requires two panels. I only have a drop of three inches at sixteen ft. what is the require minium overlap??

I assume you mean that it will take two panels to go from the eave to the peak and you want to now how much to overlap the panels at the end lap. Different roof systems require different end lap dimensions. It could be anywhere from 3" to 6". I would ask the manufacturer of the panels you intend to use.
