"Cool" shingles versus 30-yr with radiant barrier

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I need to re-roof before closing escrow and I'm confused as to the best and quickest way to achieve a "cool" roof. I had originally wanted to go with Certtanteed's Solaris shingles but they take 60-90 for delivery. I don't have that time. Is a 30-year roof with a radiant barrier just as effective as the Solaris shingles?

Without having access to testing information from Certainteed and the manufacturer of the particular radiant barrier you wanted to use, it is hard to say whether or not they would be equal in effectiveness.
