I have seen rusty metal roofs on new log home construction in log and timber style magazine. The article says the homeowner purchased the corrugated steel directly from the factory and rusted it on the construction site. I want to use a rusty look corrugated metal roof on my new log home, where can I purchase this type of material and how will I obtain a uniform rust appearance?

Some of the systems you have seen have perhaps been brownish painted systems rather than rust.
Anytime you intentionally rust metal, you are shortening its life.
There is a metal available called Corten which rusts but does so very slowly. However, in recent years its manufacturer has quit selling it for roofing applications.
Other than that, all I would know to suggest would be to purchase a very heavy gauge mill finish galvanized or galvalume steel roof and then etch it with acid to start the corrosion process.
