We are restoring an 1845 Court House Bell Tower. The cap is sealed with a material labeled: "USS Mathews & Bouchers Best 1C
Copper Steel 40 Pound Coating"
It is in overlaping sheets 19 1/2 x 27. It has some rusting. We need to know more about this material for restoration, coverage, and rust inhibiting if possible.

I assume USS stands for US Steel. It is possible that if you contact them they may have some ideas.
