We are installing Gerard shingle on a slope that requires protection for my installers so they don't slip off. What do you recommend? I don't think we want to cut the lip, do we?

I would really suggest you obtain this information from Gerard. Yes, with may products you can cut the butts to allow for roof jacks. However, I do not want to tell you to do something which may affect the warranty from Gerard. Todd Miller
