Most of the metal shingles have Kynar finishes however, yes, in certain conditions mildew or a dirt accumulation can occur. In many cases, this can be wiped clean when the product is a little damp. A light power washing could also work or you could use a solution of water, detergent, and TSP. Please realize that any dirt or mildew is just a cosmetic thing and is not damaging to the product.
