A local manufacturer / supplier of metal roofing does not know if their products are Energy Star compliant, but the Valspar paint that they use is listed on the EPA's Energy Star Roof Poducts list. Would this be suitable to justify a tax credit or do I need "Energy Star Compliant" stamped on the invoice when I buy the material.

Technically, the way I read things, the product must be rated not just the paint system. Some people do not interpret it that way though. I do not know if the IRS will ever rule anything on this or if it will just be ignored.
