We are building a new home with a Galvalum standing seam roof. Some roofing contractors install site-rolled panels, while others use factory panels. Is one superior to the other? I am concerned about a factory warranty (lack of) with site-formed panels. Thanks.

Site forming is typically done when the panels are to long to truck. They can be just as good as what's formed in a factory.

rustyjames is correct. The warranty is provided by the steel coil coaters, so it would apply either way.

Thanks guys for the information.

Also, with site formed panels, the contractor has less waste, less room is taken up for materials and it is just convenient.

My advice is to always know exactly who backs any warranties you receive and verify the best you can the strength of that company or those companies.
