All the roofing contractors I've talked to have mentioned that I could get a savings on my homeowners insurance if I have a metal roof. I saw it on your website as well at http://www.metalroofing.com/v2/content/guide/costs/insurance-savings.cfm. But my insurance agent has never heard of such a thing, and she has made calls to many insurance companies and they all have no idea what I'm talking about. Your website specifically mentions State Farm, so we called 3 State Farms and they all have no clue. Please help.

Jason, The reason for the discount is the fact that almost all metal roofing carries a UL 2218 impact resistance. State Farm and many other insurance firms offer a discount because it makes metal roofing stand up better under hail than other roofing products. Here is the form for the discount: http://www.statefarm.com/_pdf/nationwideform.pdf (copy and past the link above into your top browser.
