I plan to reroof my cabin this summer with standing seam metal roof.
it has exposed beams inside. I would like to insulate outside of sheathing. condensation is a major problem in the area. What is the best way to insulate/ventilate?

Much depends upon the metal system you install but I might suggest sleepers on top of the rafters, with part of it insulated and part of it left open for ventilation and then horizontal battens for fastening the metal.

the roof is not normal construction. it has 6x6 rafters 3' oc then 1x12,plastic vapor barier, 3/4 ply, felt. I am going to tear down to plywood to check condition, then refelt. what kind of spacing would you recomend for insulation/ air vents. not sure what sleepers are. thanks
