Dormer Flashing to Shingle Junction

Guest User
My contractor finished my 2 dormer of my standing seam roof where it joints the asphalt shingles in two ways. The first has shingle covering all but 1" of the metal flashing. The second has the shingles held back a full course giving about 8" exposure. The dormers stand side by side. What is the correct treatment?

It would be best to have the transition shingled over. The difference may be where the dormer was falling in relationship to the shingle tabs.
