I am considering a Rustic aluminum shake roof for my home in Honolulu. As you may know, in Hawaii we have lots of hot weather, rain, and salt from the ocean. How well does metal, particularly aluminum, fare in such conditions? I am concerned that variations in heat will cause the aluminum to contract and expand, producing leaks in vulnerable parts of the roof. What are your thoughts about this?

The panels are small enough and the styrations absorb the side to side thermal movement and the front upstand along with the hooked connection absorbs it the other way. As such you should have no concerns.
