I am installing metal roofing (3/12 pitch) over plywood decking with Palisade underlayment. I am thinking I should not overlap the ridge with the Palisade, in other words, leave the ridge exposed with a gap in the decking and ridge, and not cover it with the Palisade, then, install the ridgecap for ventilation. I have vented soffits and the birdblocks stop 1 1/2 inches below the rafter tops leaving me with an airspace above the insulation all the way to the ridge. Is this correct?
