I have a small cabin. It is used on week ends, year round. It is only heated when we are there. It has an existing metal roof installed on 1x4's spaced 24" apart. I was looking at a closed cell spay foam insulation. Do I need to be concerned with the roof/soffet vents or can I spay it directly on the metal roof. I wanted to finish the ceiling after insulating it.

Normally such insulation is used as part of a "hot roof theory" where ventilation is not used. It can be sprayed direct to the back of the panels. Does this answer your question at all? Todd Miller

I did some reserch on the computer. I now understand the hot roof theory. I think I will be fine with spay insulation. Thankyou for the reply
