My contractor says he can only put 1 1/2 inch of ISO b/c of "clamp" down issues associated with screwing the mental roof down and causing valley's at the screw point. What are some "usual" insulation methods to get a higher R value?

The best method and what we usually do is to put 1/2 inch OSB over the ISO board. That will sandwich your ISO board between two solid substrates. We have done it up to 4" and it works great. [email protected]

I was informed a 5/8" substrate was required for a screw application. Is 1/2" thick enough?
