I have a contractor that is in the process of constructing a new residence. Unfortunately, the 24 gauge steel “R” panel roof was installed without the proper batting. Also, several of the panels were installed damaged. The contractor is attempting to remove the panels so they can make the necessary corrections.
The problem is that they are unable to separate the panels from each other because of the sealant used. I’m fairly certain that the sealant used was a butyl sealant that came on a half inch roll.
My initial concern is to find a way to get the panels apart without damaging them. Also, I’m a little concerned that we may be getting a roof that can’t be repaired without a total replacement.
Any advice would be helpful.
Cheers
