Hi,
In trying to get estimates for a metal roof, (i think we are looking at using standing seam sheets) we are being told by many roofers that a. they don't like to do them,
b. they don't advise that we use them (property on the coast, but not right at the water's edge) and c. they estimate it will cost 5 times more than a traditional composite shingled roof.
Why such a difference in price? it seems it would go up faster since they are large sheets, am i missing something?
Thanks!

In most cases, the cost of the metal itself is the major factor.
I would suggest you contact Custom-Bilt Metals. They have offices in Sacramento as well as in the Bay Area. They are based in Chino.
