I have gotten two quotes on a new metal roof one guy says you have to remove the ashpalt shingles and lay down paper under the metal, the other says you go over the ashpalt shingles with the paper. What is the best way this should be done? Thanks

Kevin, You can do it either way, but you asked for the best way. The best way is to tear off the old. [email protected]

Also, some systems like metal shingles and other heavily formed panels lend themselves better to going over old shingles. Todd Miller
