problems on ocean front

Needing new roof. I like the idea of the Metal roof, but extreemly concerned about the salt air and constant moisture. I looked through your pictures and did not see any ocean front homes. Can you please advise. Thank you.

Actually, due to its wind resistance, metal is used frequently on oceanfront homes. Today's paint finishes and other coatings are highly corrosion resistant. You may want to give special consideration to aluminum or copper as options to steel as they are non-ferrous metals. Todd Miller

Thanks for the quick response. Copper would be ideal but with todays theft I don't know how long I would have the roof. If aluminum is used what special considerations should I know about? I have shake on now and still no leaks but, it's time to change. They have been in place for about 48yrs.

Really, look for a quality paint finish. That is the main concern. There are aluminum shake products available. Todd Miller
