Hi, I want to replace the roof on my dormers and I am searching for an appropriate roofing material and product brand. The roof has a 3:12 pitch for 2 feet that transitions quickly to an about 1:12 pitch for about 1 foot until it reaches the eave. The dormers interface with a mansard roof with slate shingles. Additionally, I want to work with a fellow that is a competent carpenter/roofer, but has no experience working with metal roofs. Under these circumstances, would you recommend a metal roof, or a specific product--or is the installation too complicated? Thanks.
