As a custom Builder I am ocassionally asked to mediate as an expert witness in owner /builder disputes. In one such case, the owner has a law suit againt a builder for No Brick ties, No weep holes and no through wall flashing weaved into the couse of brick just above where the weep should go and non at the window either. Believe it or not I found a retro fit brick tie. Does any one know of a method of to retro fit thru wall flashing without tearing out the brick? This customers claim that no patches can be made because the brick will be discolored. They want damages and funding for all brick removed and replaced. Any ideas?

Many manufacturers of metal roofing encourage sawcuts into masonry and inserting flashing into them. Todd Miller
