what is the difference between number 1 grade and number 2 grade metal

Lorraine Bennett
what is the difference between the number 1 grade and the number 2 grade metal. I have one person tell me that there is no difference between then except the price.

It really depends on the company. There is usually, but not always a difference. I would check with the manufacturer. They should be able to tell you the exact differences between the two. The below are only for illustrating POSSIBLE differences. They do not apply to all companies, and to some companies non of them apply. Common differences include: - Paint thickness: non-warranted panels often have a thinner paint - Paint type: non-warranted panels may have a different type which may fade and chalk faster (ex. siliconized polyester vs. polyester). - Panel thickness: the non-warranted panels may be slightly thinner. - Panel substrate: non-warranted panels may have a galvanized (zinc) coating under the paint vs galvalume (zinc-aluminum) on the first quality. Some companies sell the same panels whether you purchase non-warranted or warranted. They can sell the non-warranted for less because they have less liability this way. The important thing either way is to make sure you are getting a quality product. Ask them the specs about their product: thickness, substrate, paint type, manufacturer, etc..
