I am about half done with getting a metal roof put on my house, which is about 15 years old and had a standard shingle roof. I called my insurance and they said in order to get a discount, the paperwork has to say that the product is "impact resistant". I am waiting to talk to the contractor to find out why my paperwork doesn't say that. I got quotes from 3 different companies, and this one had the best warrantee. Can you shed some light on "Impact Resistent"

Most metal roof systems meet UL 2218 Class IV standard for impact resistance. Certification of this should be available from the manufacturer of your roofing.
