I'm ready to start this job this weekend and I have a few questions. Roof Project is a sunroom, low pitch 1:12 with existing roll roofing which is leaking. Some of the decking has rotted, especially on the eave side. I plan to remove the asphalt and plywood that has been water damaged. Can I attach the purlins directly to the joists without new decking? When I get to undamaged decking can I attach the purlins to the old asphalt? I found a PBR panel that is rated for 1:12. Thanks

In my opinion, to help avoid condensation problems, you should have decking and underlayment on the entire roof. Todd Miller
