Garden Shed Roof/Red Vertical Panel

My husband and I just hired a contractor to build us a garden shed measuring 5"x7". Not a large project. The shed is a "lean to" style, with a slight roof pitch. We had to get the design approved by the city and since our home has a red, vertical panel metal roof, we were required to use the same roofing style on the shed. The contractor finished building the shed yesterday, but called to say he couldn't make the roof look like the house and instead just nailed/glued down flat metal panels on the roof of the shed. He said you can't buy the vertical panels with the raised sections, and that he didn't have the tools to make the bend in the metal. My question is this: Can a contractor purchase the raised vertical panels for install, or must they be custom made on site? Will this roof on the shed leak, as it's basically just two straight metal panels laid on top of each other and nailed down? Help! I don't want to pay the contractor until I know if this is a completely inadequate job. The metal is galvanized, pre-painted metal. From what I can tell, he laid the metal on top of tar paper. Any thoughts?

Yes, He can buy the panels. There are several manufacturers on this site that make them and there will be a distributor in your area that can get them for you. Many lumber yards do that. Eventually it will leak. With a slight pitch and nailed down it has to have a sealant on the laps and also it will have exposed nails. He also can get any metal bent at a sheet metal shop. If he has his dimensions down as to what he needs, the manufacturer of the panels can make it.
