I'm looking for information on how to strip the current coating off and repaint it with what. I purchased the home 2 years ago with the metal roof being 4 years old at the time. No pealing had occurred but within that 2 yr. period only the front side of the house is pealing and it faces to the south. Can I power wash the paint off and therefore repaint it? Any ideas? Thanks

Peeling surfaces sometimes are not good candidates for re-painting. Do you know who manufactured the roofing? Can you contact them for advice and possible warranty coverage? Todd Miller

We have no paperwork and have been unsuccessful in contacting the previous owner for the manufacturer or installers. How would you get the coating off the roof to re-apply or paint?

The problem is that the failure may be due to a primer or pre-treat process problem. If that is the case, it could be very difficult to remove it 100%. Probably the best way to do it would be by power washing but be careful around the roof seams and flashings. Todd Miller

You can try to touch them up but it willprobably keep peeling. Use a good primer and top coat. Todd Miller
