I work for a comapny called SolarFrameWorks in Denver, CO. We have recently designed a system to convert vertical seam metal roofing into a solar electric system. I am not a roofing expert so please excuse me if I use incorrect terminology. My question is: What is the typical head lap at the top of a piece of metal roofing (the portion of the panel at the crown of the roof where it is mechanically attached) We want to make our system compatible with existing materials so I need to know how panels are typically built. Please email me with answers or questions about our products at [email protected]

Different manufacturers have different dimensions. I would look at several manufacturer's web sites and see what they show in their detail section.
