i work for a metal roofing company, we manufacture and install a screw-down (3'), a snaplock (knudson), and a berridge standing seam (z-lock). i was hoping to get some advice or tips as far as installing the standing seam over 1'' rigid insulation. what type of ins. board should i use that is affordable and beneficial to the home owner.our smap-lock has a nail-strip and our berridge panels have a continuous clip, how would i fasten my panels securely if im going through the ins. do i have to use a certain type of clip to keep my pans tight to the ins. layer? i want to install a better roof system and know this system is very attractive to clients. any help would be greatly appreciated. thx.

Austen, I am sorry. This is outside my expertise. Have your talked with Berridge and Knudson. Surely they would have some answers or be able to refer you to someone?

Austen, Use bearing plates where you place the screws.
