I need a new roof soon. However, I can only afford to fix the roof at this time. I want to use a metal roof. My question is that I want to add on a sun room in the future. Will I be able to do so without problems. The roof pitch is steep, see attached picture. The room added would be in the back by the back door. It would essentially be a finished porch from the door to the furnace chimney.

If you have adequate head clearance to tie into the fascia and still have adequate roof pitch, you will be okay and that would be best. If however you need to tie in higher on the roof, you roofing contractor may want to make some special allowance sat time of installation. Todd Miller
