We got a quote from a metal roof contractor and he added "snow splitter" to the bid. He said this would be require to keep the sliding snow from ripping the vent tubes off the roof. The idea sounds resonable but I can't seem to find any information about this on the web. Is this something unique to this area or common and required?

This is a very good idea and based upon his description I would say that he plans to custom fabricate it for your job which is probably a good idea. Todd Miller
