My roofer has installed a 26 ga. standing seam metal roof light in color, on my cathedral ceiling roof(12-12 pitch). He said that I did not need venting, but instead installed one sided bubble foil under the roof with the foil facing the metal roof. Under the bubble foil is 2 by 4 perlins 16" on center attached to 2 by 12 I joist, also 16" on center. Inside the I joist they installed R-30 faced fiberglass insulation. Attached to the bottom of the I joist is another layer of one sided bubble foil, with the foil facing the drywall. Will this work or will I end up with a ton of moisture and a rotting roof? PLEASE HELP!

Is there a vapor barrier behind the drywall? I am not sure the foam soil stuff will act as one ... it probably isn't too bad though. On radiant barriers, the foil needs to face an airspace, not be sandwiched against another material. Todd Miller
