We are experiencing difficulites obtaining home owners insurance at our new home. We secured insurance from Encompass Insurance company and they are stating that we are being cancelled because of a tin roof on an outhouse adjacent to our bank barn. Their reason - it holds the heat and causes fire to ensue faster. Are you familiar w/insurnace companies that are metal roof friendly? The roof that they are referring to is a corregated tin, its on a outhouse/storage shed that we consider to be in decent shape.

Have never heard of anything like this and it is totally unfounded. If you get us contact info for your insurance company, we can contact them if you like. Todd Miller

Hello, Sounds farfetched to me. Here in Texas, insurance companies actually give homeowners a break on insurance if they have a metal roof, up to 35%. I know it's just an outhouse but it seems odd they would cancel the insurance on your home. I think someone is misinformed. Wade
