I am building a new house in upstate SC. I plan to use a metal roofing system on a 12-12 pitch roof. I have a quote from a manufacturer/installer located in Lancaster, SC. They use a exposed fastner installation method with neoprene washers. I am looking for a lifetime application with little or no maintainence. Will this type of installation system last? Are there any disadvantages that I should be aware of? The quote seems very economical. My e-mail address is [email protected] Thanks.

I don't know what length the panels are but I assume they are under 50' long. I would not have a problem with a through-fastened panel, especially on such a steep pitch. As long as the panels are properly installed and the fasteners are long-life, i.e. zinc/ aluminum or stainless steel capped, you should have no problems.
