Installing Galvalume around exhaust vents

I am in the process of a new home being constructed. The roofer has just started installing Galvalume. However, the ridge of one of the panels is situated directly over one of the exhaust vents that exits on to the roof. In fact the ridge has been cut out so the panel can be placed around it. A piece of Galvalume was installed around this and screwed into place. Is this a typical installation process? Seems to me that this would be an easy place for a leak to happen and is aesthetically unacceptable. Thanks, Mike

This does not sound like an all bad approach. However if you have concerns can you send photos to the roofing manufacturer or to me ... [email protected] Todd Miller
