i have a low slope roof & have decided to put a standing seam metal roof on, but am unsure as to how i should procede. can i build over the existing ashphalt shingles? how do i insulate S.I.P.S. OR I.P.S. or is there a metal sandwich panel i should look for? your help please & thanx!!

Rod, it sounds like you're planning an aggressive project. Your questions are pretty in depth. First of all I would suggest you pose them to the manufacturer of your roofing.
What are you trying to achieve? Energy efficiency? Durability?
You could use SIPS panels if your home can handle the weight but you need to get some ventilation worked in the system.
