Hello everyone. A couple of standing seam questions:
1. I'm looking for a non-structural, lifetime warranty, standing seam roofing product that's class A and Dade County-approved over wood sheathing. Which products, if any, meet those requirements?
2. Why don't standing seam roofs regularly pull themselves apart with all the thermal expansion/contraction? I'm thinking of a double lock style, where there are no ribs to accommodate widthwise movement, and the locks and clips don't allow lengthwise movement. Seems like a rigid system that would pull itself apart.

Widthwise movement of standing seam is minimal and is accommodated through an "accordian effect" of the panels. I would suggest contacting ATAS, Peterson, and Englert as manufacturers.
