We currently have a house with composition shingles. They probably have 3 to 5 years of life left. My wif and I have always liked the look of metal and I want to begin investigating options. Where would be the best place to begin ? I am particulalry interested in whether there are color options in the high energy effecient metal roofs or must they be white ? This website is a great place to begin, as is www.coolmetalroofing.com I also have a guide to metal roofing I will send to you if you email me at [email protected] Lighter colors are always most reflective but there are also now dark colors with reflective pigment for energy efficiency. Also, many metal roof systems have inherent airspaces which are beneficial for energy efficiency.
