I have a ribbed metal roof installed over plywood decking on 2x4 trusses. The roof has vented soffits and a ridge vent. I would like to install insulation on the roof but with 3 1/2" wood and 3 1/2" insulation there will not be a space for air flow. Will the ribbing in the metal roof suffice for ventilation and keep down moisture buildup? Thanks, Nelson

No. According to code, roof assemblies need a minimum 1" vented space. Todd Miller
