We have a metal (straight) roof and want to add a room to the back of the house. What measures should be taken to prevent leaking when the new room is joined to roof with aluminum siding? We are concerned because we have had leaks around the chimney, which had to be re-caulked. We do not want to add a new roof and have leak problems.

The aluminum siding should be removed, flashed behind, re-installed, and then the roof installed. Todd Miller
