Hi- Anyone have any recommendations on how to transition from a 7/12 arch. shingle directly to a 4/12 metal over a front porch? I'm sure it has been done successfully but haven't been able to locate any information. Basically the 9' x 30' metal-over-the-porch area is in the middle of three hips. Thanks for any ideas...

You need a transition flashing that goes up under the shingles and comes out on top of the metal. The tricky area is you must be careful that it is placed high enough on the shingle roof that a negative pitch situation is not created. Todd Miller
