Our home has a vertical panel kynar coated roof approximately 12 years old. It is showing numerous rust spots in no particular pattern for no apparent reason.
Should the roof be completely repainted or just the spots?
How should the roof be prepared for painting and what product is best to use? Is it possible to obtain a custom colored paint to match the existing roof?

Please be aware that there are various levels of Kynar and it taks a 500 series that typically comes with a 25 year paint warranty. I would contact the manufacturer as a PVDF coating should not do this and it should be on a proper metalic substate that does not rust in this time period. You do need to indentify the paint system to get the proper paint and process that will adhere.
