We are considering using standing seam metal roof with cellulose insulation. The insulation contractors reccomend filling the entire rafter space with cellulose and no air space, as part of the roof will be directly above living space. They say that no moisture will make it through to the roof decking. How do you think this will work with metal, and how would you install the metal.
What you would recommend when using cellulose insulation with a standing seam metal roof?

Cellulose insulation will allow moisrure through it. Polyicynene insulation would be an option that will not allow moisture through it.
Otherwise, I would suggest a good vapor barrier behind the ceilings and then also a vented airspace.
