Hello, I recently bought a house with a corten roof. It is about 6 years old. Someone told me that I had to seal the roof after it reached a certain color. Is this true? I am also installing flagstone around the house and the runoff water from the roof stains the ground. Would sealing this help or do I need gutters. What sealer would I use? US Steel is the originator and producer of Corten. However, since the early 1980s, they have not suggested its use for architectural purposes, for the very reasons you cite. I am not aware of any sort of sealer but you can contact them to check if you wish.
