I had a steel roof put on my cabin (12/12pitch) and the roof leaks right down the center of the roof. Found this wkend the ridge vent cap had aprox 1-1 1/2 inch opening in roof to vent and the rain must get in during hard/heavy rains and then leak onto cieling. How do i fix this??Was there supposed to by some type of foam or something to prevent rain/snow from getting in during high winds but still let the roof vent properly?? Help!

Chances are that the ridge vent either was of poor design or not installed properly. I would contact the contractor, the metal roofing manufacturer, or another experienced metal roofing contractor in your area, in that order, until you can get help with this. If still not resolved, you can email pictures of the ridge vent to me at [email protected]
