I am building a hexagon cabin 22' corner to corner. My first question is between plywood or 1x4 strips(like a gazebo)which is preferable for metal roofing?... My second question: Is metal roofing a hexagon any more difficult than a gable or hip roof? And lastly, what is a good way to vent a hexagon?... thank you!

This all depends upon the product you choose. Most vertical seam products will adapt well to this installation. Some of the shingle products may present a small challenge on the corners, but not insurmountable. As far as decking or battens ... that question is determined by the metal roof you choose. Some products can be installed over battens but many cannot. Not using decking can increase the likelihood of moisture / condensation issues and problems with noise control. Todd Miller
